industries, announced today the release of the exclusive
WIND:CON TM Index.
The WIND:CON TM Index is
a proprietary High Wind Forecasting system that combines Hail Point numerical weather prediction
and artificial intelligence to more accurately forecast where damaging gusts will occur. WIND:CON TM classifies damaging wind as 3 second, 10 meter wind gusts to 58 mph or greater.
Below is a description of the hail that can be expected based on the WIND:CONTM value.
8+ Very high likelihood of damaging wind gusts over 60 mph and extreme winds possible.
6 - High likelihood of wind gusts over 60 mph.
4 - Good chance of localized damaging winds.
2 - Low chance of damaging winds, but is possible.
0 - Near-zero chance of damaging winds.
The WIND:CON TM Index ranges from 0 to 10. Multiply the value by 10 to get the probability of damaging winds within 50 miles of a location.
For example, a WIND:CON TM Index of 8 means there's a 80% chance of a wind gusts over 60 mph within 50 miles of any location in the indicated area.
